AppMare MCP server

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, OpenCode or any MCP client to your AppMare account. Your assistant can create apps with AppMare AI, change them, follow every build and hand you the editor link, without leaving the chat.

Overview

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI assistants use to work with other services. AppMare runs an MCP server, so an assistant you already use can build apps in your AppMare account.

  • Build with AppMare AI. Describe an app and the assistant starts a build. The same AI pipeline as the AppMare editor generates the pages, navigation and logic.
  • Change existing apps. Ask for a new screen, a different layout or a feature, and the assistant sends it to AppMare AI.
  • Follow every build. The assistant checks progress and gives you the editor link when the app is ready to preview, edit and publish.

The MCP server works through AppMare AI. It never returns your pages' source, actions or other app internals. Open the app in the editor to see and change those.

Before you start

  1. 1
An AppMare account. Create one free or log in.
  2. 2
Credits for building. Builds and changes spend the AppMare credits on your account, like builds you start in the app. Reading apps and build status is free.
  3. 3
An MCP client. Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, or any other client that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP.

Connect your assistant

Pick your client. Each one signs in with your AppMare account the first time you use it. To use an API key instead, see the key option under each client.

Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)

  1. 1
Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. 2
Name it AppMare and paste the server URL:
https://appmare.com/Debug/mcp
  1. 3
Choose Connect. AppMare opens: log in if asked, review the permissions and press Allow.
  2. 4
In a chat, turn the AppMare connector on from the tools menu and ask for an app.

Sign-in and API keys

Sign in with AppMare (recommended)

The first time a client connects, it opens an AppMare page in your browser. Log in if you are not already, check which app is asking and what it can do, then press Allow. The client receives its own access token; it never sees your password.

  • Clients renew their access on their own, so you sign in once. If a client goes unused for 60 days, it asks you to sign in again.
  • To remove access, open Settings → API keys & connections and choose Disconnect all assistants.

API keys

Use a key for scripts, CI, or clients without a sign-in flow.

  1. 1
Open Settings → API keys & connections on the website, or Profile → API keys & connections in the AppMare app.
  2. 2
Name the key and choose Create key. Copy it right away: it starts with amk_ and is shown only once.
  3. 3
Send it on every request as Authorization: Bearer amk_…, ideally from an environment variable.

A key acts as your account. Keep it out of code you share, and revoke it from the same page if it leaks. You can have up to 10 keys, and each shows when it was last used.

Tools

Every tool works only on the signed-in account. App ids look like com_appmare_barberbooking48213; get them from list_apps or create_app.

Example session

You ask:

Build a booking app for my barbershop. Customers pick a service and a barber, choose a time, and get a confirmation. Dark theme.

The assistant then works through AppMare:

  1. get_accountchecks there are credits for a build.
  2. create_appstarts the build with your description and theme: Dark, and gets the new app id.
  3. get_build_statuschecks every minute or so. Builds usually take several minutes.
  4. get_applists the generated pages once the build is done.

It replies with the editor link. Open it to preview the app on phone, tablet and desktop, keep editing, and publish. To change something later, ask again: the assistant uses modify_app on the same app.

Credits and limits

  • Credits. create_app and modify_app spend AppMare credits like builds started in the app, and a build never spends more than your balance. With no credits left, both return an error asking you to add credits.
  • One build per app at a time. modify_app refuses while the app is still building. Wait for it, or use cancel_build.
  • Descriptions and instructions can be up to 8,000 characters.
  • Model. Builds use AppMare's default model unless the assistant passes another id from list_models.

Privacy and security

  • Your account only. Every request is tied to the signed-in account or key, and tools can only see and change that account's apps.
  • No app internals. Tools return names, pages, status and links, never page source, actions or data models.
  • Nothing stored in plain text. AppMare keeps only fingerprints of access tokens and API keys, never the values.
  • You stay in control. Revoke a key or disconnect every assistant at any time from Settings → API keys & connections.

Troubleshooting

The client says it is unauthorized or asks to sign in again
The sign-in was disconnected or the key was revoked. Reconnect the server (Claude: Settings → Connectors; Claude Code: /mcp; Codex: codex mcp login appmare), or create a new API key.
"This AppMare account has no credits left"
Add credits or upgrade your plan in AppMare, then ask again. Reading apps and build status still works.
"This app is already being built"
A build or change is running. Ask the assistant to check get_build_status, or cancel it first.
"No app with that id in this account"
The id is mistyped or belongs to another account. Ask the assistant to run list_apps and pick from the list.

FAQ

Do I need to install or host anything?
No. The server runs at AppMare. Add the URL to your client and sign in; there is no package to install.
Does it cost extra?
No. Connecting is free on every plan; builds spend the same credits as builds in the app.
Can the assistant publish my app to the stores?
Not yet. Publishing stays in the editor, where you choose the platform and add your store keys.
Can I use it from more than one assistant?
Yes. Connect as many clients as you like; each gets its own access, and Disconnect all assistants removes them all at once.

Ready to connect?
